As summer nears its end, it’s hard not to think back on the many, many adventures I’ve had! From experiencing my very first Lollapalooza with Toyota (more to come on that) to having my parents visit me here in my favorite city, it’s undoubtedly been one to remember.
Today, I’m recapping a few of the summer memories that I’ve experienced alongside some amazing people, all in thanks to Toyota! Keep reading below to hear all about my Lolla experience and my week with their incredible (and adorable) car, the CH-R Premium XLE.
First things first, it’s time for a story. A lot of you know I grew up moving around my whole life. One of the last times I moved was halfway through high school, which meant it was much more difficult to get a North Carolina license while in the middle of obtaining my Ohio permit! Long story short, when I finally did get my license, my parents bought me a used 2005 Toyota Camry that I adore. Truly! It’s stood the test of time and I’ve always felt incredibly safe driving it.
My experience with the CH-R Premium XLE was exactly the same. With safety features like blind spot monitoring and Toyota Safety Sense P™ (TSS-P), city driving was much less stressful. Some of my favorite features include the backup camera and auto-folding outside mirrors. Seriously such an upgrade from what I’m used to! I love my own Toyota, but this one really made me lust for an overdue upgrade. My mom and dad loved the ride too! While they were here, we drove out to the western suburbs to check out the Oakbrook mall. It was my first time there and such a great way to spend a Saturday afternoon shopping around!
Lollapalooza, you ask? One of the best times EVER! I’m so glad I was able to go this summer for the first time after living in the city for five years, especially on behalf of a brand I admire as much as Toyota. Their team was kind enough to hook me up with two VIP passes, which did not disappoint, and trust me, neither did the wonderful Toyota activations! Above is Exhibit Love right near the Buckingham Fountain, but my absolute favorite was the Festi-Van tent where a handful of Toyota Siennas were decked out in festival gear for everyone to check out. So cute! Made me want to go glamping.
What I loved most about each activation were the interactive elements and takeaways for guests (especially as the communications/PR/social media geek that I am), like a festival hair braiding bar and free silkscreen totes. How. Cool?! All in all, while going for four days was exhausting, it was such a great time. I think my favorite performances were Lauv, Alina Baraz, Post Malone and The Weeknd!
What do you guys think of Toyota? Do you happen to own one or have you ever driven their cars? Let me know in the comments below! I’d love to hear all about your experience. Hope you all have an incredible weekend!
