With Thanksgiving tomorrow, the holiday travel season is almost underway! From now through the end of the year, many of us will be taking trips to visit family and friends. This afternoon, I’m actually headed to Michigan! So, I figured there’s no better time than now to talk about what beauty products I pack when I travel! Keep reading below to check them out.
First off, let’s talk about storing beauty products while traveling. I’ve always struggled to find functional and fashionable beauty pouches that weren’t crazy expensive until I discovered these adorable, clear TRUFFLE ones through my favorite blogger, Julia Engel of Gal Meets Glam. Their team was kind enough to send me a set and I am in LOVE! I think they make great Christmas gifts too. Plus, the fact that they’re see-through makes TSA a breeze.
When it comes to travel haircare, I no doubt pack lightly. VIRTUE’s travel size shampoo and conditioners are so adorable and incredibly convenient! The Smooth line may just be my favorite. I also always bring either my straightener or curling iron (rarely both), a detangling brush, and detangling spray. Besides that, not much else haircare related makes it to my bag.
Much like haircare, it’s best to keep things simple for a travel skincare routine. I stick to cleanser, makeup remover, eye cream, and moisturizer. My hands-down favorite eye cream is this First Aid Beauty one. It’s actually formulated to be worn under makeup and it I can totally attest to this. I’ve been loving this mini Boscia moisturizer too. The holiday season is a great time to pick up samples and/or minis of your favorite products. Stock up on them for travel!
Extra items that are fun to bring along if you have the room are perfume, face masks, and a jade roller! Glossier You is PERFECT for travel at 1.7 fluid ounces. The perfume it reminds me the most of is Elizabeth and James Nirvana White, but You smells very clean and sparkling (P.S. if it’s your first Glossier order, you can snag it for 20% through my rep link).
If you’re traveling by plane or for a long period of time, face masks are great too. Your skin typically gets dehydrated and tired looking from traveling. One of my more recent favorites, Patchology, released the sets called Perfect Weekend and Wink and A Kiss. They’re so ideal for traveling with since they don’t take up much room. To help with puffiness, bring a jade roller! Store it in the fridge or freezer if you can to really depuff. I’ll put a post up soon on why I’m so obsessed with jade rolling.
