Happy Friday, everyone! Today, I’m excited to introduce a brand new series on LPM called Friday Five. I’ve never really done a blog post series before, but I’m really looking forward to this one. Each Friday, there will be a brand new volume of Friday Five to bring you five things: my timely recommendations on what to read, eat, listen to, shop, and do!
I always enjoy sharing my random finds with all of you so this will be a great way to continue to do so on a consistent basis each and every week. I hope you enjoy volume one of Friday Five and stay tuned for more!
I came across this post by Grace of The Stripe late last week and it really hit home with me. It’s all about how she tried to digitally detox and realized how social media and her phone itself has been affecting her, her mind, and social interactions. Lately, I’ve been using the app Moment to track how often I’ve been using my own phone and it’s helping me become a lot more self-aware.
Eat // Bub City
BUB CITY. That’s all I have to say. Hands-down one of my favorite spots in the city (Austin’s too) for damn good BBQ and country music. Their pomegranate margarita is killer (and strong which makes it even better). I’m also a sucker for their buffalo chicken sandwich, fried pickles, mac and cheese, and pulled pork sandwich. I could go on and on but I won’t. Just go and you can thank me later.
Listen // Dirty John
If you follow me on Instagram, you know I’ve been hooked on podcasts lately. A post rounding up my favorites is coming soon, I promise! Needless to say, this one has had me hooked. It’s a true-crime mini-series that delves into the story of John Meehan, a manipulative man who essentially scams and mentally abuses multiple women. The story, though not a happy one, is enthralling and leaves you on the edge of your set. The reporting by the LA Times is phenomenal as well.
Shop // This dress
I’m OBSESSED! I was hoping to order this dress to wear in time for Lexi’s birthday dinner next week, but unfortunately, the color and size I need is back ordered. Nonetheless, I’m considering ordering it to wear to my best friend’s rehearsal dinner in November because it’s so gorgeous and classy. I love the Coral Cedar color for fall and that it hits mid-shin
Do // Fall activities
I recently rounded up my favorite fall activities and there’s no better time than now to do them! From apple picking to pumpkin carving and everything in between, October is nearly over so make sure you during this prime fall weather time period. If there’s one thing I really think you should do, it’s make this pumpkin recipe.
Hope you all have the most amazing weekend ever!
