A Summer Refresh: Sparkling Cocktail Recipes

Guys, I am SO excited about today’s post because it combines a few of my all-time favorite things: sparkling water, summertime, and delicious cocktails. To me, nothing says summer more than a fruity cocktail, especially a sparkling one, which is why I’m sharing a few recipes perfect for your next get together or happy hour.

The following recipes are all made with an amazing flavored sparkling water called Spindrift. It’s the first and only line of sparkling beverages made with real squeezed fruit. That’s truly all it’s made out of, sparkling water and real fruit! I LOVE that. The drinks are especially low in sugars and calories, which is an added plus and makes them such a guilt free mixer for cocktails! Keep on reading to see these irresistible recipes!

A CLASSIC! If you like grapefruit, you’ll absolutely love this Paloma for the summertime. Run a lime around the rim of a glass and dip it in salt (or sugar) if you’d like. Next, pour in 1.5 oz of tequila or mezcal and 3/4 can of Grapefruit Spindrift depending on the size of your glass. Add the juice of half a lime, a sprinkle of sugar, and ice. Stir well. Place a slice of grapefruit on the rim if you want to get a bit fancy! While Grapefruit Spindrift isn’t the grapefruit soda normally used in this recipe, it’s quite close and offers a lighter take on the traditional cocktail.

Orange Mango Mimosa

While this may not count as a cocktail, it’s a super easy drink to make! Most people think of mimosas in their classic form, bubbly and orange juice, but I dare to dream bigger. I even love Trader Joe’s apple cider with mimosas around Thanksgiving. So yummy! For this summery variation, you simply top a 3/4 full glass of champagne or another bubbly with Orange Mango Spindrift flavor. The ratio of bubbly to sparkling water is up to you but I prefer more bubbly. One of my favorites right now is Cupcake Prosecco. Make this drink extra special by garnishing with an orange slice and sugaring the rim!

Cucumber Jalapeno Margarita

While I’m not a huge cucumber fan, I can appreciate a great jalapeno margarita and the cucumber flavor in this one takes the perfect edge off the heat of the jalapeno. Run a lime around the rim of a glass and dip it in salt. Add 1.5 oz of tequila and the juice of half a lime. Fill the rest of the glass with Cucumber Spindrift and add ice. Stir. Drop in some jalapeno and cucumber slices too! There you have it, a cocktail that’s hot and cold at the same time! P.S. Austin LOVES this one. I have a feeling it’ll very quickly become a staple at our place.

Blueberry Lemonade

Alcoholic lemonade is one of the greatest inventions for those of us that don’t like strong drinks. Lemonade so easily masks the flavor of alcohol or in this case, sparkling lemon water does, which also has much less sugar than regular lemonade. To make this yummy drink, muddle a few blueberries in a glass with a sprinkle of sugar. Then, squeeze the juice of half a lemon. Add ice and 1.5 oz of vodka. Top the rest of the glass with some Lemon Spindrift. Add a lemon slice and a few more blueberries as a finishing touch!

These are just a few of my favorite sparkling cocktail recipes for summer. You can check out Spindrift’s other flavors here and dream up your own ideas on how to drink them!
