It’s fairly well-known that fall is my favorite time of year. As summer comes to a close and cooler temperatures and falling leaves appear just around the corner, so does the back-to-school season. I’m a bit sad and nostalgic that I won’t be heading back this year since I recently graduated college. Nevertheless, the back-to-school season still excites me as it generally means clothing sales, a new planner, and lots of great magazine articles. In today’s post, I’m highlighting a few beauty trends that are perfect for trying when you head back to high school or college this fall. Keep reading below!
Some may argue big lashes are always in and I don’t necessarily disagree, but there’s something about lengthy lashes that make you feel more confident. That confidence is truly key when you’re going back to school! essence makes some awesome mascaras perfect for big lashes, including their Volume Stylist Mascaras. If you prefer curled lashes, this one is for you. Want some lengthening drama instead? I love this one! It totally mimics that false lash look.
Last year was huge for contouring and strobing, but 2017 has proven to be more about a natural base. I personally love this shift in trends as it has made me embrace a light to medium coverage face and some of my flaws. One of my favorite essence products is the Pure Nude Highlighter. It is truly a nude highlighter and it looks so great with every makeup look I do. To keep your redness or dullness at bay, this Color Correcting Mattifying Powder is an amazing pick too.
What a way to make a statement, am I right? Metallic lips have been SO incredibly trendy lately, but not just for spring or summer. You can bring that trend right into the cooler weather with essence’s Metal Shock Lipsticks. There are eight unique shades, but I think the most wearable has to be Ace of Hearts. If you’re feeling more daring, Purple Pistol is a deep berry shade. I imagine these lippies would look great with a more neutral face and outfit, this way the lip stands out.
