Just as a few accessories can perfectly finish off your outfit, your eyebrows often complete your beauty look. They truly frame your face and I personally hate even leaving the house without mine done! Taking care of your eyebrows and manicuring them can often be overwhelming so today, I’m excited to share all that I know about how to do eyebrows and hope it may help you!
Before you tackle transforming your eyebrows, you’ll want to be sure you’re stocked up on all of the essentials. During a recent trip to Meijer, I picked up some of my eyebrow makeup favorites. I love that they have everything I need, including brow powder, wax, a pencil, a crayon, a brush, and colored gel. My eyebrow look starts with a pencil or crayon to fill in bare areas – then, I use a definer to make my brows look precisely shaped. To finish the look, I use a gel to lock them in place for long-lasting perfection!
Curious how to shape your eyebrows? To start, you’ll want to brush your eyebrows up and away and analyze what shaping they need. Take note of what areas are particularly sparse. To do this, I love using this my e.l.f. brow duo brush from Meijer because it has both a spoolie brush and an angled end great for applying brow powders and pomades. As a guideline, your eyebrows should start parallel to the inner corner of your eye and end parallel to the outer corner of your eye. Where they arch is up to you, but mine naturally arch just about ¾ of the way in. If you have rogue hairs, quickly pluck them with a pair of tweezers.
Once you know the shape you want your brows to take, you can begin giving your eyebrows some more shape with either a brow pencil or crayon. I prefer to use a pencil to create natural hair like strokes, but if you want bold, statement-making brows, a brow crayon is an easy choice.
My L’Oreal Brow Stylist Definer is my ultimate favorite brow product found at Meijer. It’s precise, creamy, and blendable. The ultra-fine pencil tip is a perfect tool for recreating tiny brow hair and precisely drawing and shaping brows for a well-defined look. If you prefer a crayon, I’m a big fan of the Revlon ColorStay Brow Crayon (such cute packaging too!). After you create shape, brush through your eyebrows with a spoolie brush to soften the color you just laid down.
To fill in any remaining bare areas, I recommend using a brow powder like NYX Eyebrow Cake Powder. This one is so perfect for traveling with since it’s small. It even includes two colors, a clear brow wax, a spoolie brush, and an angled brush. Similar to the brow pencil, you’ll want to try to create short, hair like strokes. The idea is to create a natural eyebrow look as if they’re your brows but better. Try to avoid uneven and harsh lines, but if you do run into this problem, just remember to brush through them!
Satisfied with the final product? Finish it all off with a colored brow gel like Maybelline New York Brow Drama Sculpting Brow Mascara. This sets your brows and locks them into place so they stay put all day or night. For a really natural look, I like to brush up the start of my eyebrows with my finger and make them look a little bit bushy. To keep the hairs this way, I use Wet n Wild Color Icon Brow Shaper, which is a clear brow wax pencil.
Voila! My everyday eyebrow look is complete after just these few simple steps and perfect products. Show off your summer brow look using #MeijerStyle to share your style.
