I’m writing my very first blog post on WordPress and on my new site! I’m so ecstatic with how everything turned out. Though I have some work to do on reformatting everything that got messed up while transferring things, I’m still excited!
If you haven’t noticed from my recent Instagrams, I’ve been in North Carolina for the past few weeks visiting my parents while on break for school. My boyfriend, Austin, came to visit for a bit too and we decided to shoot this super casual, everyday look that is perfect for a day of holiday shopping or the like. Click read more below to see some more pictures! Lately, I’ve been wearing a lot of the same shades of dark green, cream, and lots of gray. I like to stick to a more earthy palette of colors so that it’s easier to mix and match simple items in my closet. Statement pieces are important too, like my colorful cape in my previous style blog post, but these casual ones are more likely to be worn more often.
If you’re going to buy any of the items I’m wearing to add more essentials to your closet, I highly recommend a vest like this. I snagged mine for $10 last year at ZARA and wear it whenever I’m not sure of what to wear. For me, dressing for everyday life can often be the most difficult. I either forget about pieces I have or I’m too overwhelmed by a number of choices. A vest makes it simple because you have to layer something underneath of it, of course. Vests also look great over several other pieces like dresses or paired with a skirt.
P.S. I’ve fallen in love with Sephora’s cream lip stain in shade, Marvelous Mauve. I mentioned this in my beauty maven gift guide and as a result, started to use it again. This is the prettiest pink based mauve that flatters practically everyone. They’re only $14 and just came out with 40 new colors so check them out if you like matte lippies.
