The last few months of the year include a few holidays and other various occasions so naturally, this means a lot of entertaining is to be done. Truly, I love this time of year though because friends and family come together and it’s certainly time well spent. Since I’m originally Canadian and my parents live in North Carolina, I really cherish the little time I get to see everyone. For a little help on the subject of fall entertaining, I’m excited to say I’ve partnered up with a wonderful Chicago-based brand, Paris312, to share some tips and ideas.
Whether it’s a late Friendsgiving or a get-together for no particular reason at all, crafting the perfect tablescape and experience for your guests is so essential. Click read more to see more photos and how you can properly entertain your own guests.
You can’t have a party without the necessities! For my recent party, no detail was forgotten. I included table runners, napkins, silverware, straws, cups, plates, and even a cake stand all from Paris312. To make the table pop and tie in the fall aspect, I placed several gorgeous leaves I grabbed from my backyard and laid them around in various spots. A simple cream colored maple leaf dish full of other fall trinkets as a centerpiece brought everything together.
As for food, depending on the size of your gathering, you may want to have nibbles out or offer guests an actual meal. I opted for light bites like salami, water crackers, apple slices, and more. If you’re going to have a cheese board, I suggest having meat, cheese, something sweet and something crunchy. For an added touch, I cut out my cheese slices in leaf shapes using cookie cutters. If you’re in a bit of a time crunch, you can pick up some dessert like I did. But if you’re more of a baker, pumpkin pie is a classic and favorite of most everyone during fall.
No party is complete without some drinks. You could make something more fun like a cranberry Moscow mule or stay simple with white wine. Last week for Thanksgiving, Austin and I made cranberry Moscow mules and they were rather good (and easy). Regardless, check with your guests beforehand to learn their preference.
If you like what you see, you can check out Paris312’s items at the Boss Babe pop-up shop located in Block 37 on State St. It opened up on last week Black Friday and will be there until January 1. Thank you again to Paris312 for sponsoring this post!
