The past two weeks have been hectic to say the least. Between the start of midterms, wrapping up sorority recruitment, having an internship, and running my blog, I’ve been pretty busy. Despite this, I decided I needed to make some time this week to pamper myself a little bit at Gordon Salon in Lakeview. Without any “me time” at all, I’d probably go crazy.

On Tuesday, I saw Aveda Master Stylist and Cutting Coach, CJ Dougherty for a conditioning treatment and a blowout. Since my hair is so dry from being colored so often, a conditioning treatment was very much needed. Though it only took about ten minutes, the treatment itself sat for five minutes. After CJ washed it out and started my blowout, my hair immediately felt more soft and hydrated. For only $20, I’d definitely recommend getting one if you have hair concerns.
I wear my hair straight all the time, I know. I really need to branch out more and attempt to curl it but I’m still learning. A blowout is a great way for me to get some volume while still wearing my hair straight and sleek. To make it last longer, CJ recommended using dry shampoo as a preventative measure, not a remedy once your hair is already greasy. Lastly, I also like using a finishing serum on the ends to keep the shine and rid of the frizz.
As for my outfit, I love this simple look for transitioning into Chicago’s cooler fall. Riding boots are my hands-down favorite piece for fall and these ones are on sale for about $100 less than the original price, which is such a steal in my opinion. My jeans are from Henry & Belle, AKA the best and comfiest denim I’ve ever owned. My blouse is one of my favorites from H&M that I got last Christmas. The lace detailing and flowy silhouette makes it perfect to pair with jeans and riding boots for a casual look.
