Dressing well as a college student while also looking relaxed can be difficult sometimes. One of my lovely readers reached out to me with this dilemma, which I face too, and asked me to recommend five pieces every college student should have. So, I decided to write about it!
Click read more below to see what five pieces I feel are ideal to stay trendy and comfortable even on the mornings where you have to wake up at an ungodly time.
I used to work part-time at J.Crew, only for a few months, but nonetheless it was hard not to buy these metallic gold and ivory New Balances so of course I did. Believe it or not, they’re easy to dress up or down which makes them perfect for any college student. Super comfortable too!
Bralettes have been popular for a while now. Two years ago, I even asked for four of them from Free People for my birthday. They’re also super comfortable, as opposed to underwire bras, and I love the way they look underneath oversized shirts like this one I’m wearing. My black one is a go-to for me.
If you’re in college and you don’t wear leggings on almost a daily basis, I commend you. I really do because for me, it’s a struggle not to wear them every single day. Forever21 makes cheap ones that (surprisingly) aren’t super see through and last pretty long. For the price, they’re definitely my favorite.
4. Stylish backpack (c/o)
Much like the athleisure shoes that are a necessity, a stylish backpack that can be worn to class or a formal event is worth splurging on. This Vera Bradley one would be perfect as a carry-on bag or for traveling in general. I wish I would’ve had it with me while I was in Europe this past summer!
I live in oversized tops. Whether I’m wearing them with leggings and running shoes like I am here, and often do to class, or a skirt and boots, they’re so great for comfort. For me, there’s some sense of security about swimming in a top that’s just big enough on you that it’s fashionable, especially for fall and winter.
If you’re a college student, what pieces are must-haves for you? Or even if you aren’t, how do you like to dress to stay cozy and trendy at the same time? Let me know in the comments below! 🙂
