The Best of Chicago’s Beauty

We all have to treat ourselves sometimes, right? For us ladies, that often means a spa day or going to get our hair done. Whatever the treatment, it’s usually relaxing; especially at the right place. For this post, I’ve gathered up five of my favorite places for various services in the Chicago area.

Click read more below to see which ones I picked and how you can get $15 off any service!

Best No-Chip Manicure: Nail Junkie // 2127 W. Belmont Ave, (773) – 880 – 9195

Most of us are familiar with gel or no-chip nail polish. All of the drugstore brands are hopping on the trend but the best no-chip manicure of all? Nail Junkie’s. I don’t know how they do it but they do. Mine has lasted me two weeks and would last even longer if I didn’t have growth. I’m not joking.. Zero chips or stains. A must-stop if you want your nails to last.

Best Acrylic Manicure: Midcity Nails // 1351 W. Fullerton Ave, book here
If you’re a nail-biter like me, acrylics are often the only way to fake a gorgeous manicure. I’ve tried a few places over the last year but nothing compares to MidCity’s quality and price. For $45, I get a full set with no-chip polish. Brian is especially talented, takes his time, and makes sure you love your new nails. He’s great at shaping too so you can get coffin, almond, square, or whatever else you can think up.

Best Haircut and Color: Salon V // 1007 W. Webster Ave, book here
I’m really picky about who does my hair. I’ll be the first to admit it, especially as a former hairdresser’s daughter. Salon V as a whole is an incredible salon full of expertise. If you’re a DePaul student, you also get 20% off your service on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Laura is my favorite and she’s amazing at both cut and color for women and men. Even Austin goes to her!

Best Pedicure: Be Polished // 2539 N. Sheffield Ave, book here

I try my best to get a pedicure at least once a month, especially in the summer but I hadn’t found a good place in Chicago until a friend recommended Be Polished to me. It was one of the first pedicures I’ve had in Chicago where I actually felt tended to during my 45 minute experience. At other salons, I’ve felt rushed during my pedicure but after this one, I actually felt relaxed.

Best Eyebrow Wax: Benefit Brow Bar // 852 W. Armitage Ave, book here

I don’t get my eyebrows waxed often but when I do, I usually go to the Benefit Brow Bar on Armitage. It’s so hard to trust people to wax and pluck your brows yet most everyone here knows what they’re doing and how to shape your brows to best flatter you. I’ve heard their spray tans are great too! To keep up in between appointments and make your wax last longer, just pluck your brows yourself.

I also wanted to share with you that PrettyQuick is my favorite way to book appointments (so easily too). 3 of the 5 listed establishments allow you to book with PrettyQuick and I highly recommend it! Just download the app for your phone or click here to redeem $15 off your next appointment for ANY service in Chicago and D.C. 🙂
