Business cards are an art. I mean that. Though I’m only a junior in college, I’m smart enough to know that handing someone my business card will only become more important as I grow and land a career in the real world.
This small piece of paper with your information on it is your chance to give someone a great first impression of you. So make it a great one. Check out my tips below on how to manuever the world of business cards!
I used Zazzle to create my business cards shown above. It took me a while to find a style I really love and felt was representative of me, but once I did, I was super happy with it. You can browse their designs here or upload your own. There are so many, it’s hard to choose. And they typically have great deals going on too! Search for coupon codes before you order.
Make sure your style matches your brand. You’ll notice that my business card is clean, simple, and classic. It has a bit of gold detailing and a pale pink background with black text. This matches my blog, and not just for any reason.
As far as what to put on your business card, there are many opinions. But I think you should at least include these: your first and last name, phone number, email address, physical address, and your LinkedIn link. If you’re a college student or recent grad, it’s wise to include your college and major.
Once you’ve created your business cards, you need something stylish to hold them in! For Valentine’s Day, Austin got me this monogramed Kate Spade one that happens to be in my favorite color too. Your holder should also show your personality. Keep some in there, as well as in your wallet.
