Now that it’s about halfway through 2015, I can say with confidence that the ‘it bag’ of this year is most definitely the bucket bag. It’s appealing to most because it’s somewhat structured but has a relaxed silhouette that makes it perfect for running errands in a casual outfit but can be wore on a night out as well.
Even if you’re not necessarily a ‘bag person,’ the bucket bag could be considered a pretty good investment for you. It’s practical and simple. You can sling most bucket bags right over your shoulder or even wear it as a crossbody. There is something effortless about them.
Celebrities and retailers love them alike. Everyone from ZARA to J.Crew has a bucket bag option in their stores. Just last week, Hillary Duff was seen with this Proenza Schouler bucket bag. I like that she opted for something different with the patchwork. This photo of Alessandra Ambrosio toting arounding the original bucket bag made my Mansur Gavriel is a classic as well. She incorporating it into her outfit well by opting for black on black.
All of the bags in the graphic at the beginning of this post are only $50 or less and are gorgeous, in my opinion. I’ve always had my eye on this Free People one for only $68. The nude is a sharp color and would obviously go with so much. I’m a big fan of the vegan leather as well. It holds up well and it’s animal friendly! What do you think of the bucket bag as 2015’s bag?
