Feature: Alexandra Graham

So, if you know me, you know that I’ve moved around quite a bit in my life so far. I spent five years of my adolescence in northeastern Ohio where I completed my first two years of high school. There, I met Alexandra Graham. Though we were never close friends, we kept in touch somewhat over social media throughout the years and we both live in Chicago now! It’s crazy how paths can overlap through time.

Alexandra is a 19 year old studying fashion design at the School of the Art Institute here in Chicago but she’s originally from Chagrin Falls, Ohio. She fell in love with fashion and the industry as early as the second grade thanks to the lovely Project Runway. As a way to get her foot in the door, Alexandra began working as an intern her freshman year of high school at a local boutique called Winds of Change. Eventually, she worked her way up to a full-time paid position that gave her experience in personal styling, merchandise buying, fashion photoshoots, and even event coordinating.

Excitedly, she is applying for season two of House of DVF (Diane Von Furstenburg)! A few weeks ago, I helped film and edit her audition tape. Above is the look she put together for my readers here at LPM and the execs at DVF!
Alexandra describes her style as bold, edgy, and bohemian and judging from the above outfit, I couldn’t pick any better words. She’s always willing to make a feminine dress just a little funner by wearing rough boots with it. She also currently works at Free People in the Water Tower on Michigan Avenue (go say hi!) and I feel like she lives and breathes their brand and aesthetic. But, her style is always evolving.

Quite honestly, Alexandra has always caught my eye since I’ve known her. She’s bold, honest, expressive, and isn’t afraid of what anyone has to say about her. On top of this, she’s an incredibly hard worker with passion that could ignite a fire. I admire everything about her so, so much.
Who of your friends or family inspires you with their personality and style? Let me know in the comments below!
